never had ONE failure in 5 different kits. I have had HIDs in 3 vehicles so far, all from ddmtuning and I could not be MORE happy with the light output, quality and price. When on the highway in really dark areas and the low and fogs on, I light up so much area its ridiculous. I mostly just drive with my foglight HIDs on and there is PLENTY of light, even in dark areas. I even use them in my reflector housings but I aimed them down a bit so I don't kill other drivers. I would see ZERO reason for anyone who drives at night to NOT use HIDS. I have made many night drives in the middle of nowhere, trips to MI from NM 1700 miles through some areas with no lights at 10pm-5am. There is NO point I could ever imagine in getting 55w either, 35w have been PLENTY in any case for me over the past 7 years. The difference between HID and halogen is amazing, especially when youre driving down poor lit roads. I havent yet to come across the brightness between 35w and 55w as previously having 55w. oh, and I wasnt talking about 'oh look at my cutoff its so purdy', but rather the light shining towards the road and the width of the beam as well as light. Aslong as the car has projectors rather reflectors youre fine. And btw guys, it is a 55w hid kit setup vs a FX35 bixenon retrofit with 35w HIDs in there. If you have any error codes or flicker issues, spend the 30$ for the fixes, also available over there.Ħ000k = white blue and still VERY bright (much brighter than any halogen)Ĩ000k = my favorite, more blue but still VERY bright (also much brighter than halogen and 'clean' light)ġ0000k = blue with hint of purple usually (still much brighter than any halogen but might get you into trouble with police and look kinda silly)ġ2-14k = purpleish (STILL much brighter than halogen but looks silly and might get you into trouble from the color) Ive always had the HID kit when changing cars. If there are issues with the install and how they turn on, there are simple relays and code eliminators to fix it.īasically anyone who gets the Vturbo should make their way to and for about 50$ you can get a full Digital HID kit which will enhance your visibility and the looks of your lighting. HIDs add so much visibility and given the Vturbo projectors, they will not blind other drivers. I guess most of that thread is pretty much useless information to most people but I guess it could be a good read if you just want to read about what HIDs are and suchĮntire thread seems like reasons NOT get HIDs. Point #2 is also null and invalid for the turbo guys since If you have any questions, feel free to message me.Point #3 regarding the reflector housing wont affect the VTurbo's at all in that link, just FYI Turbo guys and gals! I hope my financial endeavors and the experience I gained save you time and money. I made a lot of stupid mistakes buying different lights for my anzo's. A true Xenon HID bulb does not use a filament, like the Halogen bulb. Today, a factory equipped Xenon lighting use a 35w lighting system. I bought 4500k wanting the factory color, but as of right now I have head lights more yellow than the factory halogens as I wait for replacement 5500k bulbs. This Xenon gas creates a much more powerful amount of light- measured in thousands of Lumen- depending on the power consumption which normally is 35w, 55w or 75w. 55W ballasts will reduce your bulb color by about 1000k. One last thing with HID's got me because I didn't read all the way. I started with LED's and got very bad flicker which also reared its head with the HID's. THe other method to fix this flicker is using FORSCAN. This method works fine, but is yet another little brick you gotta figure out a way to hide. You can use anti-flicker capacitors that go inline between your ballasts and your factory wiring. I tried both and I'll tell you my preferred option. Now for another issue I learned the hard way. This harness pulls straight from the battery and uses the factory headlight plug (the h7 from the anzo's) as a trigger for the relay harness. I ended up replacing the cheaper kit that was supplied with a canbus harness with a Morimoto 55w kid with the HD relay harness. Some times the ballasts would recover and come back on, some times they wouldn't. Look at the xenon bulbs that use 100W, they dont hurt peoples cars. It would completely shut off the head lights when the engine would kick back on. Stock bulbs are 55W halogen and so its not like its going to burn your wires and drain the battery. The start stop feature gave the first kid I tried fits.
